Hello forum. First off, thank you for having me. I'm a huge history fan and love to read about it. I will be staying around after my question because I've seen many an interesting posts. My Great, Great-Grandfather fought in the CW and was living in Gloversville New York. I could never find out which regiment he was attached to, but he was injured and received a war pension. and after my G,G-Grandmother passed he married a 19 yo women at the age of 65. But that's a story for another time.

I inherited a operable Civil War cannon. It isn't full size but the wheels stand 24.5" tall and the muzzle bore is 2". Truth be told it's neat but I'm never going to use it, and I paid for the funeral out of my pocket and would like to recoup some of those funds. I have no idea what it's really worth, but I was told he paid $5,000 for it about 10 years ago.
I was hoping someone could provide me some information on it and what would be a fair value to both me and the buyer. I don't want top dollar but I don't want to be taken advantage of either.

I also inherited a full set of Civil War books but I'm keeping them, I'll eventually get around to reading them.

If you get the pension application of your GG Grandfather, you will find out what regiment he was in. You may find out other information that could be highly interesting to you!
