Found this partial firearm in a collection, I can't seem to find any references or photos on the internet of this particular style, It has a distinct Colt style to it and a black powder design for cap loading. It is rather small possibly a pocket pistol type. Starting to wonder if it is a non colt made version of a colt and maybe someone around here would have more insight into this time periods firearms.

It has 3 screws by the trigger and handle, 1 infront and behind the trigger and one protruding in from the grip. The extended frame that meets the handle is what is puzzling me, this isn't a typical Colt style.

My guess that it is part of a Belgian made firearm that was loosely based on a percussion Colt. Are there any proof marks on the frame? If so, they you could determine in what or which European country the arm was manufactured.

Here in the U.S., we don't have proof laws. However, both Manhattan and Cooper firearms companies made and sold percussion versions of pistols that were based on Colt designs.

Expired Image Removed Check out this picture of a Bacon pocket revolver. Even the scroll work is very similar to yours. The name Bacon would be on the barrel that yours doesn't have. The full reference is at http://www.antiqueguns.com/auction/item.cgi?robles/robles-46343
