Can y'all help me find my ancestor Alma R Ware, or her marriage name Alma Ware Perkins parents. I have looked everywhere I could and I have found her in find a grave and family search but there is nothing about her parents. She was born in Mississippi in 1874 and died in Mississippi in 1963. Her husbands name was Oscar Lee Perkins

The 1880 census (Webster, Mississippi) states that she was a daughter of Thomas F. (b. c. 1834) and Elizabeth Ware. There is a military burial certificate in the Mississippi archives for a Thomas F. Ware (1834-1893, CSA) who MAY be the same because he is buried in the Perkinsville Cemetery. Someone with better access to more immediate may be able to confirm/refute.

Edit: According to Find a Grave, the wife of the elder Thomas F. Ware was Elizabeth Jane (Bell). If there is a link between the 2 Thomases, I'd check with the maintainer of the Find a Grave site to determine his/her source for this.

Thanks after a quick search on fold3 I'm pretty sure he was in the 4th Alabama, it's the only confederate record that matches and he was from Alabama

Can y'all help me find my ancestor Ruth Perkins father, she died in the last 1990s in Mississippi but I know very little about her. She's not on find a grave as Ruth Perkins she may have remarried because her husband died in the early 80s.

Gee--I think that this is where you morph into "Historyresearcher61". You must have more information than this; sitting here in Maine, I looked at the big national records. There were 44,199 marriages between a man named Perkins with a woman named Ruth. In 1940 there were 65 women named Ruth Perkins in Mississippi. You see the problem: it is necessary to narrow this down. Do you have an approximate year of birth (1880? 1900? 1930?...etc.). A place (even a guess at the state helps)? Roughly when did she marry Mr. Perkins? Which Perkins was he--i.e. what was his name? None of us have tarot cards and we need a bit more information. Or you can take what information that you do have and research this through.

Sorry for the lack of info I'll try to get more tomorrow
