I'm looking for any info but mainly his civil war records.
Randolph Millican born 1824 in Alabama and married Sarah Jones. He was with the 23rd Mississippi. He was living in Tishomingo/Tippah county Mississippi in 1860 and 1866. I'm not sure when he died but he's not in the 1870 census.
Thanks for any help!

To perhaps supplement the above detailed specific information.

There is a Private Randolph Milliken (alternative names, Randolf/Millican) who served in Company E of the 23rd Mississippi Infantry Regiment. This Company was raised in Tippah County and mustered into State service at Iuka, on September 15, 1861.

The Regiment's service included:

Fort Donelson (surrendered and exchanged)

Champions Hill

Atlanta Campaign

Tennessee Campaign

North Carolina (surrendered on April 26, 1865)

If seeking background information on the Regimental unit, there is the following published work available on Amazon:

'Historical Sketch and Roster of the Mississippi 23rd Infantry Regiment'

by John C. Rigdon (paperback – 281 pages)

I did not find a record for either name at the Mississippi website with pension applications. Did they remain in Mississippi after the War?

Sarah did. I believe Randolph died between 1866-1870. He is not in 1870 census.
I thought I saw where one might have been applied for in 1907? Not sure.
Thanks for the help.

It may be that she filed and the name is badly misspelled. The records are at this site - you could fish around.

Maybe he ditched Sarah and headed up North to take up with a Mary?
D.o.B. is close but not exact
