I know this isn't Civil War related but I'm hoping some of the better sleuths here can help me out with this one.
I inherited this holster from my wife's grandfather along with some antique lever guns. He passed away when she was a child so I never had the opportunity to meet him. I'm just trying to figure out the potential provenance of the holster.
This is the holster:
I don't think this is an Indian Wars era holster. I think it's a later reproduction based on the more modern snap. Some Googling tells me this snap is likely from roughly the WW2 era.
The name "Paul Stewart" has no family connection. I have no idea what "T-126447" is referring to.
The only thing I can find that potentially makes since is this:
My wife's grandfather was from Denver. Other than that, the connection seems like a stretch but it's all I can find that makes sense.
