i would say im new, well not new to the love of the civil war, but new to reenacting. i wanna try to reenact, but im having trouble contacting a unit in my area to start. im from central NY, im moving back there after my deployment to iraq. Is there anyone from a infantry type unit in central NY on here?

First let me thank you for your service. I am an Afghan war veteran and a fellow reenactor as well and in the Army National Guard, so if you are Active duty, give my guard boys so slack. I saw more combat then most active boys ever will.
If you want, I will do some research for you and see what I can do for a fellow brother-in-arms. I am from Texas and currently living in CA. I will be back in Texas soon so there will always be an open invitation for you to reenact with my unit. I will see what I can dig up in NY or PA and get back with you.

It took me two years of searching to find a unit but that was back when the internet was new. If you are going to be back home in July I would say drive on down to Gettysburg and talk to units at the reenactment.

I just need to know what side you are wanting to reenact? I reenact both sides but prefer to wear the gray.

If you go to your first post (#1) and press EDIT, see if you can change the HELLO! into Hello!-Seeking Inf. unit NY.

Go to the GO ADVANCED on the bottom of the square form; press that to go into a larger edit system; and see if the TITLE can be edited.

That may get some eyes looking for you.

Let me know if that doesn't work. I'll attempt to move this line of thread to the MEET & GREET RECRUITS; so you can post fresh in the Reenactor's Thread.
