Pre-War Profession Graduated West Point 1845, resigned 1847, planter, militia officer, politician, chief engineer of Louisiana.
War Service 1861 Col. of 3rd Louisiana, Wilson's Creek, Elkhorn Tavern (c), exchanged after two months, May 1862 Brig. Gen., commanded 2nd Bde/Little's Divn at Iuka, Corinth, commanded Hebert's Bde/Forney's Divn at Vicksburg (s), exchanged, in charge of artillery around Fort Fisher NC.
Post War Career Newspaper editor, teacher.
