Hurricane Bridge/Scary Creek Reenactment....
Field Report....
Friday, March 24, 2006
The reenactment went off with out a problem. The batterys from Kanawaha Artillary and 1 Union battery did a spectacular night fire exibition on Friday Evening. Even with temps running in the 30's, and light rain and snow the turn out was great.

The Kanawaha Artillary did a school for re-certification on battery positions at 0900. The turn out was good approxamately 35 reenactors attended along with a couple new recruites. The class was for a 2 yr certification. At approxamately 1300 the Reenactment of Hurricane Bridge/Scary Creek began setting up there were (I"m guessing) aroung 100 CSA and 100 US troops in attendance for the event. The reenactment began at 1430 it was fantastic, the weather was rough it snowed and rained through the whole event without effecting any of the reenactors. the crowd was not stopped by the weather either there was around 600-700 spectaters not detured by the weather. That evening there was a Ball held for the reenactors.
Sunday, March 26, 2006
The last day of reenactment began around 1200 setting up and preparing everything. This battle the US troops numbered 150+, while the CSA had a showing of around 100 troops with 7-8 cannons in support. It was a spectacular to see the troops do battle. The reenactment lasted almost 90 min. The weather was much better sunny and warmer.

PS !!!!!!!!!!!
I had a blast!!!!!! Met alot of very nice people CSA and US!!!!!!!!!!!
I tried to restrain myself but to no avail...... I found a unit that does a lot of events that are near to my home (less than 3hrs away).
So you know I couldnt help myself so I MUSTERD IN!!!!!!! I am now a member of the Kanawha Artillary CSA Battery D, also known as Jacksons Artillery. My unit is part of The Stonewall Jackson Civil War Reenactment Unit and the Fighting Valley Division.
Hope to see you all on the battle field some day!!!!!!!!!!!
PSS.......
I will keep in touch I have many questions and always looking for good advice. I have the upmost respect for you all and my fellow reenactors and hope to be taught and learn to be the best that I can be representing our ancestors.
Thanks again
