A while back I posted about having some trouble finding a relative that according to our family tree was a Civil War vet. According to the tree we have a Rev war vet which I was able to find online so I am assuming the information on the tree is pretty accurate. I have tried several website including the National Park website and I cannot find my relative. I don't have his company or anything which is really what I am trying to find. Are there any tricks or sites that are really worth looking at that I might be missing. Last I posted everyone was very helpful but I am still having trouble.

Do you have a link to the old thread or the relative's name?

Thanks! The family tree says Alexander Tickerhoof was a vet. I just can't seem to find any military records for him. I wasn't sure if maybe he was in some local militia in which case I wouldn't even know where to start. The other is John J Farren. They are from the Johnstown area of Pa which would be Cambria county area or Juanita County. Its always possible the tree is just wrong but I'm not sure.
