Just a little reminder that in April 27th, 1822 was born Ulysses Grant, two-term POTUS, and a somewhat controversial general. Happy 202nd Birthday, General!
And speaking of General Grant, I am annoyed that although his promotion to the grade of General of the Armies of the United States was authorized by Congress in December, 2022, the actual appointment has not yet been made by the Secretary of the Army. I put out some feelers to a Pentagon-adjacent correspondent I know online, but so far nobody knows 'nothing. Hopefully, action will be taken soon to rectify this oversight.
