Twenty-five Hours to Tragedy
Three and a half years ago I posted a series on Hood's Tennessee Campaign. I was proud of the research and work that went into that effort which was written during my second tour of Iraq. In the discussion of that series another poster Gunny raised some questions that led to a friendly argument over some minor details. Now he has been gracious enough to supply me with a signed copy of his book on the subject of the Battle of Spring Hill.
I cannot say that this volume will resolve all our differences in opinion but I can say without reservation that this is a fine piece of research. His hour by hour detailing of the events is cleverly interspersed with narrative, reports, and personal recollections of the participants. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
