In 1863 General Hooker wanted to spiff up his orderlies and ordered hussar uniforms with green braid made. Some were lost when the Patroon sank. It is not certain if the "recovered" hussar uniforms from Patroon were ever issued. I have not seen any information about the Hooker's orderlies wearing hussar uniforms with green braid.
