Looking to buy a good authentic blanket that a Confederate would have carried with him.

I use a Federal issue Blanket. Dark Grey with Black stripes on the end. Check out the Vendors/Sutlers. Look to pay around $50-95 bucks. They make a great blanket roll for campaign impression.
