"gone to the Guillers"

Found this term on a Fold 3 record. It pertained to a soldier that had deserted the Confederate army. Subsequently, the soldier was in the Union army and deserted there as well. The Fold 3 card says the soldier has gone to the Guillers. Any ideas on what this means?
