This might not be the right forum but I'll take a chance. Maybe some of you collect 19th century bottles or know someone who does. I am looking for a tonic bottle labeled as "FRED WOLFEAN'S GOLDEN GATE TONIC". He was a relative and a Confederate veteran living in Galveston. I have a not-too-good copy of a tintype of him with a stack of these bottles. I'm researching the patent and maybe I can find more info. I doubt if I'll find one but if'n ya' don't ask, ye'll never know. I suspect that this "tonic" was mostly colored water with a wee drop of alcohol, maybe some tabasco sauce, pepper or who knows what-all!
