Just ran into this on YouTube. Gotta say one of the better battle animations I've seen. They broke the Wheatfield into 3 30 minute parts and I thought they did an outstanding job. Just wanted to share with all

Not sure if it's downloadable… it may be. I have only seen the three parts on the Wheatfield and was impressed. I don't think they're finished because I noticed there's only about a dozen videos. Hopefully they'll keep going

Yup, that's the one! Watching that series convinced me that Auto Tour Stop 11 (by the Wentz farm) was a virtual highway of advance and retreat for the Union.

Just did part 1 of the fight for the Bliss Farm and again thought it was really good. I think you do have be really interested in the subject because it gets really really detailed - which I really love because I am really interested in Gettysburg. Guessing most of the folks on this forum like the details as well. Link to the fight for the Bliss Farm posted below.

Hah! This guy's great, but DataMeister is better. Which would we rather hear about - the Bliss farm, or the Iron Brigade (DataMeister)? Or George Custer (DataMeister again)?

Mahone's Brigade at Gettysburg. What Happened?

A DataMeister video, explaining why Mahone's brigade did not advance on the 2nd day. The answer: Mahone's brigade did advance, just too late and not far, and it boils down to incompetence and obstruction from the corps commander (AP Hill), division commander (Anderson), and brigade commander (Mahone). Why didn't Lee fire these men? DataMeister opines that Lee didn't have enough other officers available to replace them.

Battle of Gettysburg: why J.E.B. Stuart ends up in Carlisle

The Gettysburg content starts at 15:50. This is a US Army War College lecture on the background of Stuart's ride around the Army of the Potomac in June, 1863. The core revelations here are 1. the way personal animus sometimes drives command decisions, and 2. that Gen. Lee had 4 brigades of cavalry available to him while Stuart was away. Stuart took three brigades, and left behind 2 regular and 2 irregular brigades.

Troy Harman discusses background issues with Pickett's charge, and explains that yes there was a 2nd wave. Part of it went forward too late, part of it was called off.
