Gettysburg 160th Anniversary Visit

Met up with @pmuskett ; explored the Confederate battery placements on Warfield Ridge; investigated a swale between there and the Emmitsburg Road; visited Seeley's battery; and ran into @pamc153PA . She didn't recognize us... we were pretty far away and she was in her car. Still, a good day all around!

We will be there again today and tomorrow. Virginia monument 3 pm and National Cemetery tour at 530 pm today. Otherwise no specific schedule.

Such lovely photos are a kick in the butt to learn more about Gettysburg than the basics; even read the books about the battle and the families that I already have on my shelves. Thanks for posting.

Having known nothing about the Warfield House, I went looking. What an interesting history the house has! The NPS page on the house is great, and includes a very cool time-lapse video of the house's restoration in 2019 and 2020.

You were walking to the bus area near the VC, I suppose to give a tour to school kids at the end of the year. My daughter and I were leaving the VC and couldn't stop.

No. But the Tuesday before, @pmuskett is doing a tour for early arrivals. I'm not going to be able to make the muster in the Shenandoah Valley but I'm going to try to make the Gettysburg tour.

Many thanks to @pmuskett for spending his off day taking us on a Picketts Charge walk! It was great! Thank you so much Phillip. It was a pleasure to meet some fellow CWT members too! A fun day on the battlefield.

Yesterday was my day off. Today was a fun day. When you do what you love you don't work a day in your life.
You guys are welcome. I enjoyed it. @Stryker65 it was nice meeting you also. Glad you came along with us.
