Happy New Year. George W Crafts, a citizen of Minnesota, was sent to Millen Prison from Andersonville. I'm trying to establish whether he is George Willard Crafts buried in Iowa and according to Findagrave was capture at Fort Pillow.

The chap at Fort Pillow was given on occasion as "George Washington Craft" (Ward, "River Run Red") a civilian photographer, taken prisoner by the Confederates there.

George Willard Crafts, buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Iowa was evidently a Mason. from an 1872 report of that order...

From 1867 in Minnesota house of representatives, a references a gent changing his name to George Willard Crafts in that State:

Thanks. It would appear that given the POW was listed as a civilian, the best match is Geo Washington Craft, photographer. Whether he is Geo W Crafts, Mason is an unknown but at least I have a lead. Is it possible that he went by Geo Willard Crafts and legally changed his name? Another lead to track down. Thank you for your help.
