In the interests of understanding this really is an awfully professional forum, or at least the membership in composed of a ton of professionals, genuine historians and folks who plain, old KNOW a ton, would like to make a request, please. It's not through indolence, it's because there's not a lot more annoying that reading a load of nonsense about a figure someone holds in respect or has researched themselves. I'm just hesitant to post information which is either conjecture or so poorly sourced that others have already questioned it, or so sparse it's boring.
I've been attempting threads on various wives of Civil War generals, the obvious women easier to research of course. There still isn't a ton of accessible information on some of them. Before I spend time and effort, thought I'd ask if any members here would accept a request to do a thread here in Ladies Tes, on the wife of ANY Civil War general they might know of- a favorite, or a relative, someone they bumped into somewhere who they took note of and remembered. If she would already have a thread here, well, start another one, I have no ego on the subject, believe me. It's the education and enlightenment which is important, not who provided any of it.
I hadn't known of the recently published book on this subject, that was just great cooincidence- must look into buying the Kindle version, hopefully there is one!
Thanks in advance, if anyone will be able to take one of the Mrs. on. Or... happy to hear of the ' Miss's' also.
, secret flames, there's a thread!
