I don't recall seeing this photo of General Mahone.

It appears the pleated shirt and hat are the same as the one in His more "popular" photo. And I think it was some men from his brigade that accidentally wounded General Longstreet. And like Longstreet He was affiliated with the Republican Party after the War.

There was a thread here several months ago about Soldiers and their "Lone Star" in their hats and how it was mainly a Texas or Mississippi thing. He was a Virginian wasn't he?
