150 years ago this week, Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered his forces to Union General Ulysses S. Grant at the Appomattox Court House, marking the symbolic end to the American Civil War. The Milledgeville Confederate Union newspaper printed General Lee's farewell address on April 25, 1865. The issue is available online as part of the Milledgeville Historic Newspapers Archive. http://milledgeville.galileo.usg.edu/milledgeville/view?docId=news%2Ffuw1865%2Ffuw1865-0033.xml
