I have not been on here in a long while, but noticed where some one said that N.B. Forrest III , did not get out of the B-17 Bomber when it was shot down during a bombing raid over the submarine pens in Germany! This is incorrect, when his plane was cut in half, Forrest ordered all the crew to bail out, Forrest was the last man out, the report was given the pilot of the plane behind his; Forrest died of hyperthermier in the North Sea, his body was recovered and he was buried in the cemetery in a small village on the coast, it was bought back home in 1946, and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery! I should know, I am a second cousin of Brig. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest III.
