Hello! I am compiling information on a group of men that were on the steamer St. Maurice which left Vicksburg for Mobile after the fall. One of my collateral relatives Warren Wigginton was onboard but died enroute to Mobile. I have found approx 165 men that were on this boat and I am trying to find their death dates and where they are buried. Your Joseph is one that I am looking for. Can you tell me where he is buried and his death date for my list? Thanks. I hope you see this and would love to hear more details about his life. Thanks!

Congratulations! That's something pretty cool. I will say I've often told my husband we're probably distant cousins, because as far as I can tell our families followed each other from the Atlantic coast through several states in the South, same counties and towns. :) So far I haven't found the proof, but maybe someday....

Same here, my wife's ancestors and mine often lived very close. They also were in the ANV but in different regiments than mine.

Larry Cockerham's wife and I share a common ancestor.
