Aleghany Ed, Clubby Johnson. Born in 1816, in Va. the farmly moved to Ky. while he was still a boy. From there he attended west point, in five, not four years. A Lt. In Mexico, was brevited twice being in six major battles. His skills are better than his grades show.
He was a large man. His head was said to be the shape of a beehive.

He was a large man. He had one eye that blinked furiously and while pitching woo would do so in a large booming voice that would cause fans to flutter.
He was a scrapper. Wounded in the ankle at McDowell, his cane was the size of a club, hence his knickname. Captured at spottsylvania, he was exchanged and fought at Franklin. Over shadowed, but a cable man.
He returned to Va. after the war and farmed, dying in 1873. He is buried in Richmond.
