Gary Gallagher on lex Friedman

I've never heard of Lex Friedman before these showed up in my feed. I haven't listened to them because I find the click-baity video titles and AI thumbnails off-putting. I also find it a bit odd that a scientist has a podcast where he wears a suit and interviews historians.

Do yourself a favor don't read the comments its full of full on stupidity.

Does Friedman have an already contentious/politicized fanbase, or do videos about Gallagher and/or the American Civil War just attract a contentious element to the comments sections these days?

I had never heard of him until this was posted but he has a huge YT following. Scrolling through the guests it was a significant number of political guests so I stuck with Gary, Holland, Rick Beato, Dan Carlin and Walter Isaacson

Click bait and stuff aside, if that draws new people to the topics and they stick it's worth the slight ick. I think he's mostly inquisitive and calls balls and strikes that's how I see him anyway. His episodes can be quite long
