Bonus Question: Who is the person to first use the phrase, "Let the erring sisters go in peace."?

......

1. In dollars? -this is probably incorrect (it's probably Harpers Ferry), but on the advice of Willie Sutton, I'll go where the money is/was: and choose an 'etc.': the New Orleans Mint.

2. He was a leader of various Zouave militias, and was a personal friend of Abraham Lincoln, in early autumn 1860, Ellsworth left the Chicago Zouaves (reorganized from Chicago's National Guard Cadets), and relocated to Springfield to finish his legal studies in the Lincoln-Herndon law office, he later organized the 11th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment.

3. Charles W. Sandford (ORs: "Finding the mansion vacated by the family, I stated to some of the servants left there that had the family remained I would have established a guard for their security from annoyance; but, in consequence of their absence, that I would, by occupying it myself, be responsible for the perfect care and security of the house and everything in and about it")

4. Contribands

5. Earl Van Dorn

Glory: on #1 -- is that one individual fort, armory, etc. or one seizure (I'm obviously thinking Texas was among the worst losses when Twiggs surrendered)? Can you clarify the question in some way?

Question 1 clarification: Of all those facilities captured or seized during the secession crisis by state militias loyal to the Confederacy, there was one that was particularly costly to the US government in terms of value, dollar value. I'm thinking of one particularly expensive facility.

I've added a bonus question to the five already posted, in the first post, because Question number 1 has stumped everyone and I will admit to only finding the answer in one source, out of all the sources I've posted for members to use. In other words, I've not been able to find that answer in any other source, so I will not count question 1, unless someone happens to guess correctly between now and the 6pm deadline tomorrow. So far, nobody has gotten that one correct. I will post the answer to it tomorrow night, just to satisfy any curiosity that may have been piqued. Again, the bonus question is added up in the first post of this thread, along with the others, if you're interested in answering it.

Thanks, and my apologies for the curveball.
