A lone tree below the overlook on a portion of the main battlefield at Pea Ridge.

My wife and I were the only ones in the visitor center except for one park ranger and we seen a parked car as we drove around the battlefield. so we could not complain of the crowds spoiling it. The site is much like it was during the battle and you do not get the normal huge number of markers and description boards as you might at other National Battlefields. So if this is what you are looking for, the national Battlefield at Pea Ridge is great. If you are looking for a repeat of the Gettysburg battlefield, you will be disappointed. The move at the visitor center was well done but the museum at the visitor center not very large.
