Hi folks.....I am looking for some advice/ideas on how to frame Harper's Weekly prints that I recently bought. Below are two of them (you always need to upload pics to keep Forum members happy!! :giggle: ).

What's a good frame style for these? If anyone else has framed Harper's Weekly prints, can you please post some pics? I am asking cuz I'd like to get this right and do the prints justice consider they are pieces of history.

Nice but I am out of wall space to hang things.
I will be creating wall space in the basement sometime in the next year. I need a room dedicated to the small but slowly growing collection.

The 3rd print is a 2-pager from Harper's Weekly (depicting the Battle of the Mule Shoe...can't recall what Harper's Weekly called it but it had a different name). I think I am quickly running out of space that I have not yet created.

I quickly ran out of wall space also but couldn't stop buying prints and documents related to my early Mass. Militia interest. These large acid free portfolios also work great and sit on one of my display tables where they can be opened for easy viewing.

I really like this idea. Sometimes it's just nice to page through and read!

I'm actually looking for a good home for this one. We recently moved to a smaller home and I need to get rid of a few civil war artifacts. It was done professionally with glass to shield the piece from sun damage.

I have about 50 or so complete original issues of Civil War era Harper's Weekly in addition to the Confederate bonds I collect. I purchased a bunch of cheap picture frames from Amazon and went to a coin and currency collecting supplies business online and purchased in bulk, archival acid-free matte backing and UV resistant acrylic to replace the front glass, to display my paper collectables.

July 26, 1862 complete issue featuring the plans and sketch of the CSS Virginia No. 2, aka as the Richmond.

May 11, 1861 complete issue featuring Colonel Elmer Ellsworth who would be shot dead in less than 2 weeks for removing a Confederate flag from the roof of the Marshall House hotel in Alexandria, Virginia.
