Found in cavalry area

Wandering if this is half a round buckle or not. It's tapered on one side. No markings that I can tell. Watch it turn out to be automotive lol.

Based on his fingers only , about 2.5". Could also be from a rifle. Not that large. Remember only a guess

I doesn't look like a trigger guard to me unless it comes from a poorly made toy gun.
