As can happen at our age life got in the way over the last couple of months. We are getting back to normal so hopefully more time to do what we love to do. Anyway today let's look at any picture from your favorite Civil War site. Let us know why you like it.
Mine is Gettysburg. It was my first introduction to Civil War sites when we took a field trip there in 5th grade. It also has a lot of family history for me with many ancestors fighting in such places as the Peach Orchard, The Wheatfield, Cemetery Ridge etc.

Gettysburg is probably my overall favorite too, but like with romance, I'll always have a soft spot for my very first - Shiloh! I first visited here in Spring, 1958 and have been back many times since, including for nearby reenactments; these photos are from my most recent visit a year ago in June, 2018. Above is the reproduction of Shiloh Meeting House at the original site.

The monument above stands in the Hornets' Nest along the Sunken Road and marks where a Minnesota battery fought on the first day.

Above, the site of a log cabin that served briefly as Grant's headquarters and later as a field hospital; below, the National Cemetery and the graves of six Wisconsin color-bearers in a separate circle overlooking the Tennessee River.

Of the places I have been CCNMP is my favorite. So many things to see. Others have posted Chickamauga and Lookout Mountain pictures. The pic I would like to post didn't come out good. Standing on Orchard Knob looking up at Missionary Ridge early in the morning is quite a sight. My 2 direct Confederate ancestors were up there on November 25,1863. Here's a few from Signal Point.
