Amazing Grace, written by a man, who was a slaver, and in the midst of a terrible storm at sea, made a promise. The poem that is the basis of the song, has many, many stanzas. This morning I did a recording at school, in between Living History presentations...it's only two verses, but it gives you an idea of what I sound like. I do so hope you enjoy.

If you figure it out, love to see it- talk about my favorite hymn! It's the one I'll sing ALONE, in the car where there's no one to kill off.

Once heard one of you professionals sing it at a funeral and it ruined me for the day. Anyone who wasn't a big puddle wasn't human, you know?

I don't have any fancy Apple/Google "apps" that will make this video work...…….I can watch your video fine but there's no sound???...…….I'm sure there are others out here in the viewing audience that are experiencing the same thing. Some of us here on CWT aren't very up to date media wise. All this video stuff was much more simple years ago. It's frustrating.

That was a beautifully done rendition of one of the most profound and meaningful hymns ever written.
We sang it at my father's funeral nine years ago and I still can't sing it in church without choking to a standstill. It really is the gospel of Christ in a powerful nutshell.

My husband said he can figure it out, bless him- and thanks SO much although quite seriously that hymn generally turns me into a puddle. This is awesome!!!! Oh goodness, a U Tube Channel would be terrific! You can't tell me a reenactor singing era songs wouldn't generate HUGE amounts of fans.

I think I am fairly unique, in that I sing acapella. When I have it all figured out, I'll post the link. Probably will be done under "Civil War Song Bird".
