Donna's been having some ill luck here in the Food Forum lately, long story. It transpires food must be really, really, really past an expiration date before our poor owners do not have to deal with the mold. Eeeps. Hope committing bloggery on the topic is ok- which is I'd be pretty happy to have a recipe brought here. Bazillion, competing food sites out there. Anyway, sails are flapping in the breeze, maybe come up with new energy for Donna's great forum she's put so much work into.
Thought I'd look at era papers? The rule is pre-1923 cookbooks, thought I'd look at 1860-1865 newspapers on LoC. ' Recipe ', it transpires, doesn't mean you get anything you'd put on the table. Seems to have meant ' concoction ' for whatever purpose. Really enjoyed these!
