Custer Battlefield Nat'l Mon. 001.jpg

Although a bit after the Civil War, this engagement nevertheless contained many veterans of the conflict, including double winner of the Medal of Honor, Capt. Tom Custer, who died here along with his better-known brother George, lesser-known brother Boston, nephew Autie Reed, and brother-in-law Lt. William Calhoun, as well as Gen. John Buford's favorite aide-de-camp and adjutant Capt. Myles Keogh. Of course it's Little Big Horn, Montana, which I visited along with my friend Mike @mkyzzzrdet way back in the 1970's! I was reminded of this visit and since yesterday I totally forgot Throwback Thursday in the wake of returning from Gettysburg thought this might do for this week's installment.

Anyone else having old Civil War-related photos is encouraged to post them here and in future Throwback Thursday posts!
