These are my first attempts at taking pics on the battlefield. Camera is a Nikon P-510. Photos are unedited, got there late in the day when the light was fading. Opinions, good or bad?
Wonderful! I really like the shots with a clear view of the horizon and its blue and pink colors. That kind of serenity really clashes with what happened on the battlefield.
A good series of photos. There's an interesting effect from the light hitting the Evergreen Cemetery Gatehouse that disappears when the photo is enlarged.
Nice job with a new camera! I'm assuming you didn't go auto with it? If you're used to doing manual, don't go auto--you'll never go back to manual, and manual can give you some really cool shots. I know, I made that mistake with my Nikon 5200. I had to relearn all the manual settings that work best. Really hard!
Not too bad actually, this was about 10 days ago I believe. Thank you all for your comments. Trying to learn the art of photography, actually have 2 books packed with the camera when I go. LOL
Nicely done. Early morning or late evening light certainly makes Gettysburg even more beautiful.
I am a Gettysburg Photography nut. I always take a tripod to make sure the photo is level and to make sure the subject is centered. It is tough for me to do that with a hand held camera. I also have a bag full of filters to take advantage of whatever light Mother Nature provides.
