From the National Museum of Civil War Medicine (with permission). Okay, my training is in Medical Technology with a recert in phlebotomy. I'd say that needle is 12 to 14 gauge. This NOT the baby butterfly needle so many of you ask for!:cold: That was a few more years away:giggle:

On this day in 1844, the first injection by hypodermic needle was performed by Irish physician Francis Rynd.
