Evergreen Cemetery Gatehouse

Does not look period correct and as I was driving through, I was unable to stop. I have s meeting in Chambersburg tomorrow I may be able return for a pic.

From a bit of digging, the Gatehouse was painted up through the 60's! Restoration is to how it was originally and I stand corrected!

Addressing Gettysburg podcast did a fascinating episode talking with the caretaker of the cemetery. You must be a patreon to listen to the episode, but in short, The caretaker gave evidence that the gatehouse was originally painted red. They've been raising funds to paint and protect the brick. According to the caretaker, the brick is very porous and should be painted to protect it for future generations.
