NF Emperor Trailer

Non-Fiction
Looks like some awesome action sequences, and great acting however...

It looks like there is some "re-imagining" going on. Namely it looks like their version of the Raid on Harpers Ferry is WAY off if I interpret things right.

Might be a good movie to see just on the action. Plus it looks like US Army uniforms may be right, though the Remington NMA revolvers didn't exist yet.

When they use the phrase "inspired by true events" you know cinematic liberties are being taken

I would like to see the Harper's Ferry part anyway. Based on true events means like 1% to 10% truth, the rest is our idea of what might have happened. Based on a legend, then the truth is not there at all. As they say the truth is never overrated. The names are probably real. Cromwell seems too old for the part of John Brown, the beard is all wrong. he is just out of place. Johnny Cash played a better John Brown in North and South. I will give it a watch though, it might be better than it looks.

As my screenwriting teacher, and director I've worked for, said to me many times: "Mike it's great your dedicated to history but its got to spiced up to sell!"

I fully understand the standpoint, and sympathize when appropriate, I just don't think all history has be swept away and portrayed differently to sell all the time.
