First post and interested in civil war swords. If not permitted I will delete or administrator can. I have a Union officer's sword I am interested in selling and interested in its value. It is identified to him by a presentation inscription on the scabbard by the town he was from. I have much of text about his service aFirst post and interested in civil war swords. I have one in very good condition but without the presentation inscription, I purchased at auction for $650.00 complete with leather scabbard. The inscription and service record of the officer will determine the true value, the better the service record the more value. Basically if the officer was guarding a railroad for most of the war then it is not worth as much as belonging to an officer in the thick of fighting at Gettysburg, Sharpsburg etc..... condition is also key.

Send us some pictures and the officer's history and we can give you a better idea, values are down right now, particularly Federal, but with a good record, who knows?

Working pictures i have numerous articles about Captain John W. Reynolds then promoted to Major after wounded at Gettysburg. Will work on it somore trying to get good photos. Here is a couple to start.

You may already know this, but the mark Eisenhauer wasn't anyone's name but instead was a trade mark used by Solingen German smiths indicating quality; it means "cuts iron/steel". Welcome to the forums!

Thanks yes I also learned that, sword is from Europe did you see the couple photos and info I posted?
