Don Troiani Artwork

Very nice work Kealbo. Oil or Acrylic?
thank you.Acrylic.Oils and the mediums give me a headache.Besides, acrylic allows me to fall back on a long career in watercolor.Pro-tip:if you didnt already, click on the image and it gives you a real up-close and personal, hehe.
It is a 48x48 square,so,its rather large. That size allows me to really explore a vast number of techniques within one painting.I work cheap, too, cause I would rather someone actually HAVE a piece, than wishing they could, and I'm not much into printing things, although I might when I land on my definitive CW piece.I recently found out the huge majority of Troianis' work, were commissions, and that is what I would like to do,but alas, agents wanna get paid,LOL.

Ahh,the pioneer of modern CW art!Not many since, have produced as well.I could list them, but with Troiani, mostly I have nothing but praise. He has influenced any number of my own pieces.Of all of the published artists out there in this genre, his colors are the most spectacularly vibrant.Forgive me,but I thought that Bronze Guns& Iron Men was Fredericksburg, not Nicodemus Heights.Anyway,I give you one of my almost finished works."On the Left".Not Troinani, but enjoy

That's amazing! You should post some of your others here; I'd like to see them.

Pelham was on Nicodemus Heights at Antietam. Sorry, got that mixed up with Prospect Hill at Fredericksburg.

Kealbo. Hands down. I can't tell you why (I may be partial to watercolors.....Charlie Russell used them to great effect...and my friends who are cowboy artists tend to use acrylics, so it may just be me.)
I literally sit here and drool. And imagine one in my living room. And den. And....well, you get the point.
Amazing.

A little extra color depth and this painting would be great. Any chance of you finishing it sometime soon?

Thats not a good representation because the picture was taken outside in the bright sun.Not sure what you mean by "color depth",and yes this picture is pretty much first on my list since it is near completion, now.

I probably meant deeper and brighter colors but I'm not the artist. Your style is great.
