CSA Enlistment vs. Vote for secession?

Hi,

I was looking into some census numbers and was trying to figure out a way to see how closely correlated votes in favor of secession were to actual enlistments in CSA forces. Basically, were counties and precincts which voted for secession also the same areas which supplied the manpower for the war effort? How did this play out in states like Virginia and Tennessee, where secession was no sure thing when the ball opened Charleston?

I'm also interested in seeing how the proximity to slavery correlates to these data points. So far, the numbers that I've run through with Virginia show that if a county had roughly 25% of its population as slaves, that county was virtually guarantees to favor secession.

So I think its pretty clear that counties with large slave populations went heavily for secession. I'm trying to take that line to the next step and find out if those same counties also backed up their vote with the musket, so to speak. Are there any good data sources which can help me here? Has any of this calculation been done already?
