Pre-War Profession Irish policeman, emigrated to US 1849, Col. of NY militia.
War Service 1861 Col. of 69th New York Militia, First Bull Run (w,c), exchanged August 1862, July 1861 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded a division in Suffolk campaign, Washington defences.
Notes Died after his horse fell on him.
