Convalescent Battalions

Anyone know anything about Convalescent Battalions, particularly ones in Richmond, VA?

I don't know about Convalescent Battalions but there were Convalescent Camps. This name was often given to a military hospital reserved for noncritical patients recovering from wounds or illnesses. A large Union Convalescent Camp was located at Alexandria, Virginia.
