The Confederacy created its own Naval Academy during the war. It was located in Richmond, VA. Interesting the leadership thought they need a school during war time to instruct future naval officers. The school was housed on the steamer Patrick Henry. It did supply well trained officers to their navy...

Probably the 1 thing the CSN had an abundance of was long career, senior officers.
