I would like to purchase or trade for a preferably Confederate Colonel's jacket but will consider any. ( Doesn't need to be authentic I would prefer a replica like something a reenactor would wear)

What size?

What size?
I have a sack coat that's like a size 40 which is a bit long on the sleeves but has room to grow, and I have a Union sack coat that's a size 38 which is a good fit but won't last too many years in size. So I don't know for sure but I have measurements if that helps.

But that is what the reenactors wear...:D

Seriously, since the buy out of Woolrich by China and the end of their heavy weight "Reenactor wool" your only choices are uniforms either made in Pakistan, made in America from Pakistani wool, (looks nothing like what they had, and its incredibly hot and the itchiest substance known to man), and the authentic American made jean, or woolens, a lot of times from the same sutler these days. Personally I prefer my hard earned money go towards Americans in its entirety. Plus that light gray Pakistani stuff is ugly as can be on top its other faults.

(While farby I do miss the "medium gray" wool from Woolrich just because that was a pretty color of gray.)

Looking for a Colonel's jacket or coat that isn't the authentic, I'd suggest two sources. On FB "Civil War Trade Blanket" or just go to Ebay. It'll be used, but that means its cheap and the old farby mainstream heavyweight wool. You could find a Colonel's frock coat or a decent jacket to add stars to no problem for a good price.

For new items, I would suggest checking out some of the respected sutler companies, such as C & D Jarnagin (located in Corinth, Mississippi), Quartermaster Shop (Kimball, Michigan).
You can find used reenactment uniforms on ebay, but it may take a while to find one in your size, and that falls in line with what you are looking for. The Pakistan and India made uniforms are all over ebay, but as another member already mentioned, these are not recommended due to comfort, authenticity factor. For some reason, on every one of these that I have seen, the cuffs on the Confederate models are all wrong. (There is too much width to them).
I have not dealt with Quartermaster Shop myself, but have seen them recommended in other forums for quality and authenticity. I have ordered items from C & D Jarnagin, and found them to be well made and decently priced. (A jean cloth C.S. sackcoat, trousers, etc.).
There are other U.S. based sutlers that offer quality products, along with some that are not as good.
For quality footwear, check out Missouri Boot and Shoe Company ( Neosho, Missouri). They also offer belts, cartridge boxes, etc.
