Only two states (AL & MS) of the old CSA still observe Confederate Memorial Day, April 23, 2018.
Modern thought has ruled out what took place in the land from 1861-1865. We have been told that over 600,000 died in this horrible conflict. More recent studies put the total at over 1 million. This is the conflict that made our nation what it is today. All the southern boys who fought have been labeled the "bad guys."
But they were Americans fighting each other for the right to determine their own destiny.

My grandmother had two brothers who fought for the South. One died as a POW in Camp Chase, Ohio.
Also I had two Great Grandfathers who served in the conflict.

May we never forget this tragic time in the molding of our nation and honor those brave men who served.

I have seen conflicting information on Mississippi today. Some sources said Confederate Memorial Day is April 30th in Mississippi.
