Confederate Memorial Day is an official state holiday here in Georgia, celebrated this year on Monday, April 28. All State offices are closed. Many UDC chapters sponsor activities throughout the state. I have posted previously about the moving experience I had observing such a celebration at Cool Springs Baptist Church, Colquitt County (near Sale City), Georgia.
