This is a small piece I just finished depicting Confederate soldiers sharing milk with a hungry calf . Looks like there is plenty for all . Painted in acrylics and in 1/32 scale .
The cow and calf are resin but I forgot who made them . One of my eventual plans is to make a diorama about a farm from the 1930s so I've been collecting animals and figures over the years . The 2 figures nearest the camera are Shenandoah with slight modifications . The figure petting the calf is resin but I don't remember the manufacturer . I agree 100% , but there are very few figures out there showing everyday activity . It's pretty hard to modify a figure in a fighting pose to a casual one . Another future project will be some Union farriers shoeing horses , but I'll have to scratch build the travelling forge .
I've actually seen an older still-boxed and unbuilt model of a field forge at a local antique shop! I think it's by a European manufacturer, possibly Spanish or Italian; unfortunately I think it's a much larger scale though.

I built one from Model Shipways , but the scale is 1/16th . I found some Napoleonic farriers and a horse by Nemrod in 1/32 that should be an easy conversion . I had a GGUncle who was a farrier in the 4th Michigan Cavalry .
