I just got out of a program at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitors Center with Tony Horwitz talking about his book Confederates in the Attic. Excellent program.

Still one of the most memorable and entertaining books I have read on the hot topic of Civil War memory. I would imagine that this book is enjoying a revival this year.

I read the book a number of years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed it, especially his reenacting experiences.

I read it in late January-early February last year. It was the first ACW book I'd read in over 10 years and probably was only the 4th ACW I'd ever read. Starting out,it wasn't what I expected but I kept an open mind and enjoyed it actually. Took some notes about places I'd like to visit too. Can't put my hands on the notes right now,but I think I've already struck off one of the places.

I read the first few pages of the book a while back. All I remember was it talking about reenactors staving themselves to look more authentic. I didn't go on.

I read it years ago and then select chapters not too.long ago.

It runs a fine line between what still remains from.the Civil war and his experiences.with reenactors. It's not a history lesson.

I read the book years ago, and thought it was pretty good. Recently, I listened to a few podcasts interviewing Horwitz and Robert Lee Hodge.
