I've always wondered what the surviving veterans thought about military technology during the World War One years.
I can imagine conversations like:

" If we would've had some of them three winged flying contraptions like that Red Barron fellow . . . Grant & Sherman wouldn't have been able to cross the Mis'sippy below Vicksburg." :bounce:

Thanks for posting, never seen some of those images of these generals.

Felix H. Robertson was one of the only or perhaps the only Confederate general that was actually born in Texas. He was mainly an artillery commander throughout most of the war, at one time commanding horse artillery under Joe Wheeler. He was later assigned a cavalry command.

Of course Francis M. Cockrell was the famous commander of the Missouri Brigade.

Evander M. Law was known for commanding what became the Alabama Brigade in Longstreet's Corps, same division as Hood's Texas Brigade.

I believe John McCausland was the last surviving Confederate general when he died at age 90 on January 22, 1927. There is some film of him at his home in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
