Dear Esteemed Group,
I'm doing some research into an ancestor's previously unpublished Civil War diary and have discovered that he was also a "special correspondent" for the Richmond Daily Dispatch whilst he was serving.
I have indisputable proof that he is the author of several articles but have some questions:
Would his pen name have been exclusive or used by a group of casual reporters?
Would he have ever been named in print?
And, even more unlikely, would there have been any records of any kind tying him to the name or the Richmond Daily Dispatch?
Many thanks in advance,
CE
